The answer is: VERY little. In the world of construction, there are 2 distinct “phases” of building – these are typically referred to as Phase 1:“structural finishes” and Phase 2:“finishes or FFE”. Think of it this way….all of the elements that would stay in place if you turned your new home upside down and gave it a little shake…everything that stays intact (or at least we hope it does) would be considered “structural”. All the elements that would not stay in place would “fall” into the FF&E category.
In this course, all the content is focused on phase 1. I do not cover ANY of the phase 2 design decisions. And the phase 1 information is given from a truly structural point of view, not stylistic.
